With just 23 months to go before the major event, the construction of Durban's new Moses Mabhida Stadium is doing great. Excellent progress development is continuously taking place.
According to Julie May Ellingson, head of Durban's Strategic Project Unit and 2010 Programme said that all structural elements continue to develop progressively. The piling and ground beams, the footings (foundation) for retaining walls and the lift shafts up to level five is almost completed.
Also, the Durban Stadium highlights many columns that execute structural and design roles. All columns from levels one to a portion of level five is already completed while columns for level five (half portion) and six which more than two third percent are on completion. The stadium is expected to be completed upon the FIFA's deadline of October 2009.
