A participant of Major League Soccer, America's top caliber soccer league, D.C. United Soccer Club is a club that can be found in Washington D.C. The club itself is well thought-out as the United States' most triumphant club in the history of American soccer. The club had won in the U.S. Open Cup and they were holding a record of four MLS Cups, a feat unsurpassed in American soccer record. They also hold a record for four MLS Supporters' Shields. Aside from these feats, they were also the only club that has been awarded back-to-back with MLS Supporters' Shield in 2006 and 2007 respectively. They were also the first and only club that has been awarded back-to-back again with MLS Cups in 1996 and 1997. The following year (1998), luck came again to the club when they were awarded the CONCACAF Champions' Cup. It was the first ever CONCACAF Champions' Cup that was awarded to an American club. After defeating Mexico's Club Toluca and Brazil's Vasco da Gama, they again gained the Copa Interamericana, one of the most coveted leagues in the America's.

The home ground for D.C. United Soccer Club is Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium, a soccer arena which contains 56,692 seats situated within East Capitol Street. The stadium was owned by the District of Columbia.

The club is so popular and strong that they were the only club that boasts of three supporters' club namely the Screaming Eagles, La Norte and La Barra Brava. "Black and Red" is the clubs' official moniker. The club is one of Major League's household when it comes to attendance. They were considered to be one of the clubs that has the highest number of attendance per game.
